Bill has been involved with conservation all his life. Starting out as a young trapper and hunter, Bill realized he wanted to make this part of his life. In the late '70s and early '80s, most of his income was from harvesting fur.

With his passion for conservation, Bill and his family moved to the north shore of Lake Huron in Canada, to pursue his dream. There they purchased a hunting and fishing lodge. Bill used his trapping experience to guide bear, deer and moose hunters.

Bill has also had the opportunity to share his knowledge with many other avid conservationists around Canada and the United States. He has given many speeches and seminars on fur harvesting and hunting. However, he believes the most important thing is to "do your part to preserve our natural heritage, for our kid's sake."
